第一次聽到這首歌是在14歲,還不完全懂歌詞寫的意義,只是因為喜歡 Dan Fogelberg,聽完後竟莫名被旋律感動到掉淚,在那個還沒有原版的年代,還記得它的歌名被翻譯成「往日情懷」。等到年紀漸長再聽這首歌,細細品味它的歌詞,就完全體會這樣的心情與畫面。


很多人事物、純真和無怨無悔,過去的就不會再回來了。從自己想試圖捕捉回什麼感覺、活在過去的陰影、想知道她/他現在過的好不好……..,於是,有人選擇停留,而我選擇面對現在,珍惜現在能做的事,現在能關心和愛護的人。過去的點點滴滴,就勇敢地留在過去的角落吧。


YouTube 裡的 Dan Fogelberg 已經老了,我最喜歡的那兩段 We drank a toast to innocence, We drank a toast to now 他已經唱不上去 (或者,他現在的唱腔已經代表另一種沉澱,再也沒有激情了) 所以我選擇的是Dan Fogelberg年輕時最早的版本
